Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 13 October 2017 – “Living in Dubai is not a good enough reason not to go to EICMA 2017!”, says Vittorio Brumotti, the bike trial champion as well as the long-established correspondent of the popular Italian TV show “Striscia la notizia”, who for the International Cycle and Motorcycle Show, to be held from 9 to 12 November 2017 at the Rho/Milan fair gets on to the saddle of a motorbike and an e-bike to meet all the enthusiasts at the 75th EICMA.
We are used to seeing Brumotti on a traditional bike but in the video, produced by DubaiBlog and posted on the official EICMA 2017 page (https://www.facebook.com/EicmaOfficial/), we can see him riding along the roads of the Arabian Peninsula on a motorbike or climbing stairs with an e-bike, as a tribute to the Show of two wheels. The passion of the famous correspondent of the Italian TV show “Striscia la Notizia” is not limited only to bicycles, but to two wheels inn general and the decision to visit EICMA, the most important and longest living showcase in the world, to admire the excellences of Italian manufacturing and of the sector, is inevitable. Further supporting EICMA comes the post from “100% Brumotti” on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/vittoriobrumotti/, which says: “First of all, I love two wheels with and without an engine! I think that travelling around the world with the wind in your face is the real luxury! See you at Eicma from 9 to 12 November! I can’t wait!”
The legendary “Abbombazza” becomes the “ambassador” in the United Arab Emirates of a trend that in recent years has been conquering the two-wheel market and to which EICMA has devoted an entire special area for several years: the E-bike! Mobility with electric pedalling can boast of numbers with triple-digit growth, which show how the trend is going hand in hand with the growing interest in the electric world of cycles, in Europe and in Italy. In 2016, 124,400 e-bikes were purchased in Italy: practically the Italians who chose an electric bike correspond to the inhabitants of a town like Bergamo, Trento, Pescara or Siracusa. The large quantitative figure shows a considerable increase, with respect to the same figure of 2015, of +120%.
Just under a month before it begins, another great endorsement for EICMA 2017, the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Show, which brings together the whole sector of two wheels and which for expects a record-breaking 75thedition from all points of view. Starting from the spaces dedicated to it: from the initial six pavilions, another one has been added, 18, included at a later date to accommodate the massive requests for participation by companies. Despite the addition of new exhibition areas, on 30 September there were 50 companies on the waiting list.
The event, since 2011, has seen continuous growth of its exhibition surface area, with an average of +25% and a turnover of 8,881 companies which have exhibited the best of their production at EICMA at the event in the past seven years. The growth numbers are even more evident if analysed in a two-year period: compared with the 2015 edition, number of exhibitors has increased by +12%, while the square metres for this 2017 edition register a conspicuous increase of +10%.
There is more to come. It is an international event to all effects: 59% of the exhibitors come from about 40 different countries in the world. Over the past seven years, despite the economic crisis and the repercussions on the whole economic system, EICMA has increased interest in an increasingly growing number of visitors and professional operators, both national and international, becoming the rendezvous that cannot be missed for all fans of two wheels.
And, still on the subject of internationalization, let’s not forget that the event will also add excitement to two European icons of shopping, like KaDeWe in Berlin and Harrods of London: during the days of the Show, through posters, billboards, advertising pages, online communications of the social media, digital displays and media walls, Eicma will present its showcase and Italian production to the many visitors to two of the most prestigious European centres of luxury.
