Film Socialisme (2010) is a movie directed by Jean-Luc Godard, first screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, to a widely varying reception, and released in France two days later. A symphony in three movements. Costa Concordia (wrecked in real life in January 2012) was the set for the first movement of the movie, Des choses comme ça (“Such things”), featuring conversations in numerous languagesamong a medley collection of passengers, almost all of whom are on holiday.
A Mediterranean cruise on board of Costa Concordia, numerous conversations, in numerous languages, among the passengers, including a war criminal, a former United Nations official.

Its international cast, including a brief cameo by American singer-songwriter Patti Smith, wander around the ship Costa Concordia interacting with one another but also telling their own stories.
