The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2012 is all set to rock the town on 27th January, 2012 this year when runners from round the world sprint off to win the coveted prize at the richest long distance running event in history.

Short and tall, fat and thin, kids and adults, corporate professionals, all are welcome to participate in this year’s marathon. Since the 2012 event caters to raising money for avoidable blindness, choose the charity listing in which you believe strongly. Charity is the backbone behind this fundraising event.

An important point to keep in mind before enrolling, is to be aware of your medical conditions. Make sure that you are not at risk to run in the marathon. If you have a medical problem, follow the guidelines advised by the organizers.

Before the day of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2012, remember to update yourself with the following points:

• Collect the run numbers at The Palace Hotel, The Old Town, Downtown Dubai on Wednesday 25th, 2012 and Thursday 26th, 2012 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
• All participants will receive an Adidas Climacool official race Tshirt, a finishers medal and downloadable finishers certificate.
• The organizers have ensured provision of drinking stations, toilets, medical emergencies, sponges at regular intervals during the race.

The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2012 is categorized in 42.195km Marathon, 10km Road Race and 3km Fun Run. As the cause is worthy of applause and the prizes out of this world, take time out to participate in the competition.

Pack your bags and book the next available flights to Dubai. Book alongside a Dubai hotel, where you rest and prepare yourself for the competition.

The start and finish for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2012 will be in Downtown Dubai adjacent to the Burj Khalifa. The starts for the Marathon, 10km Road Race and 3km Fun Run will be from the same start gantry location just up from the Burj Khalifa outside the Pavilion. The finish area for the Marathon, 10km Road Race and 3km Fun Run will be through the same finish gantry location on the opposite side of the road from the start gantry.

Marathon – 7:00 am.
10km Road Race – 7:15 am.
3 km Fun Run – 10:30 am.
